Eva Mendes (born in New York City) is an American actress and model. An agent for talent recognized her talents and convinced her to make a profession as an actor or model. After much thought and consideration she decided to leave the university to pursue a career in the industry of entertainment. Her debut was in the movie Children of the Corn V : Fields of Terror, and she wasn't happy with how the film turned out. She worked hard to hone her acting skills and appeared in several budget-friendly films to prove her skills. It wasn't an straightforward path for the actor however, her determination and patience did not go unrewarded. In the film Training Day she gained fame and was praised by critics.
