Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She also was a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that any person can master. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York eateries, studied Italian food, its culture and traditions as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I was never able to study or accomplish enough. Following graduation at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face problems. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food and her culinary career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share my true passion for life with people.
